Agostino Mattei

Prof. Dr. med. Agostino Mattei is an Adjunct Professor for Clinical Medical Sciences at the University of Geneva. He graduated with a medical degree from the University of Basel's Faculty of Medicine in 1995 and holds specialized certifications in Urology and Surgical Urology from 2003. Since 2016, he has served as Head of the Urology Department at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital (LUKS), where he pioneered the adoption of robotic surgery in Switzerland.

Research Interests:

• Development and standardization of minimally invasive procedures
• Clinical training programs for surgical professionals

His clinical work at LUKS (since 2007) and prior roles at University Hospital Bern and Clinique St. Augustin in Bordeaux reflect a career focused on advancing surgical practices.
