About
Agnès Villette is an Associate Professor of Modern Literature and artist-researcher at École de Recherche Graphique (erg), where she teaches Photography at the Bac 2 level. Her work bridges Environmental Humanities, Nuclear Culture Studies, and Visual Culture through multidisciplinary projects.
Current projects include Beta Bunker I & II, exploring Cold War military architecture repurposed as data centers and UNESCO heritage sites, and Landemer, a non-fiction detective novel addressing a Cold War-era unsolved murder. Her recent publication L'Etranger de l'espèce (2024) merges entomology and photography to examine invasive species.
She actively translates media theorist Jussi Parikka's works, including The Anthrobscene and Other Violences and Insect Media, and investigates estrangement through optical devices in coastal narratives like Closer, which juxtaposes Victor Hugo's texts with photographic experiments.
