Agnete Meldgaard Hansen

Agnete Meldgaard Hansen is an Associate Professor at the Department of People and Technology within the Working Life Center at Roskilde University. Her research focuses on working life transformations in the public sector, particularly health and social care, emphasizing the impact of technology and welfare governance on professional identity and dignity in care practices. She holds a Ph.D. and master's degrees in Working Life Studies from Roskilde University.

Her work employs qualitative methods like ethnography and document analysis, informed by critical sociology and feminist care theories. Key research areas include AI-driven surveillance in professional work, ethical dilemmas in telemedicine, and the 4-day workweek's gendered implications. She has contributed to 60+ publications and led projects like the VELTEK Network on welfare technologies.
