Agnes A. Bertiz is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the School of Humanities and Sciences, teaching courses in Western and Asian art history. She has led study tours in Italy and Japan and previously taught at the University of Southern California (USC) Summer Italian Language Program in Verona and Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, as a post-doctoral fellow.

Bertiz's research focuses on Italian Renaissance art, cultural history, and gender studies, with a particular interest in manuscript studies and the intersection of domesticity and fashion. She co-organized the exhibition The (Dis)Embodied Filipina: Fashioning Domesticity, Weaving Desire at the USC Pacific Asia Museum and has published on illuminated Tacuinum Sanitatis manuscripts.
Her 2008 essay in Auf der Suche nach Eden. Eine Kulturgeschichte des Gartens explores the cultural history of gardens through Renaissance manuscripts. Her work spans sub-fields like illuminated manuscripts, botanical symbolism, and cultural studies.
