Afolasade Fakolade

Dr. Afolasade Fakolade is an Assistant Professor at Queen's University's School of Rehabilitation Therapy within the Faculty of Health Sciences. She holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from Queen's University, a MSc in Neurorehabilitation from Cardiff University, and a BMR(PT) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. Her research focuses on dyadic health promotion interventions for individuals with chronic neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis (MS) and their family caregivers, emphasizing technology-supported tools and long-term adherence to health programs.

Her key projects include the Canadian Disability Participation Project 2.0, DigiTRAC (a digital toolkit for caregiver resilience), and the MS Usual Care Study. She actively collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and has published extensively on caregiver resilience, exercise interventions for neurological conditions, and telehealth applications in MS care.

Dr. Fakolade supervises graduate students in Rehabilitation Science programs and advocates for caregiver well-being through media engagements and policy discussions. Her work bridges clinical practice and research to enhance quality of life for disabled populations and their families.
