About
Aelee Jun is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, University of Wollongong, where she has been since March 2007. She holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Sydney and a First Class Honours in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney. Her research focuses on empirical corporate finance, particularly in areas such as corporate social responsibility (CSR), environmental engagement, political legitimacy, litigation risks, and banking efficiency in emerging markets, especially China.
Dr. Jun has secured internal grants from the University of Wollongong’s Business and Law faculty for targeted researcher support in 2022–2023. She actively supervises PhD candidates, including ongoing projects on Are Banks Efficient in Emerging Economies? and Environmental Engagement, Business Operation, and Corporate Policies, as well as a completed thesis on Essays on 'Say on Pay' Legislation in Australia.
Her research outputs span topics such as CSR reporting in non-state-owned enterprises, environmental policies’ role in mitigating litigation risks, and digitalization’s impact on bank stability in ASEAN. These studies reflect her expertise in Asian corporate environments, governance structures, and regulatory frameworks.
Dr. Jun also contributes to internal governance within the School of Business, serving in the Finance Discipline. Her work bridges theoretical finance concepts with practical applications in corporate strategy and policy analysis.
