Adrienne Sabety

Adrienne Sabety is an Assistant Professor of Health Policy at Stanford University School of Medicine and Faculty Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research. Her research examines healthcare markets with emphasis on marginalized populations, healthcare access barriers, and social determinants of health.

Current projects investigate: cash transfer impacts on health outcomes; recovery housing effectiveness; maternity housing programs; school-based health centers; and healthcare provider bankruptcies. Her work reveals systemic vulnerabilities, such as how provider bankruptcies increase patient risks and how legal challenges threaten no-cost preventive services.

Sabety holds affiliations with the National Bureau of Economic Research, Stanford Center on Poverty and Inequality, Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities, and Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab. Her publications in journals like JAMA Health Forum, BMJ, and American Economic Review address opioid treatment discontinuation, insurance market design, and healthcare access experiments like ActionHealthNYC.
