Adrienne Angelo is Professor of French and Director of Women's and Gender Studies at Auburn University. She holds a PhD from Emory University and researches contemporary Francophone women and LGBTQIA+ writers, life writing, memory, trauma, and medical humanities. Her publications examine representations of care, health, and identity in French literature and film.
Dr. Angelo teaches courses spanning French language, literature, cinema and special topics including fairy tales, science fiction, and crime fiction. She has published extensively on authors including Marie Nimier, Camille Laurens, and Calixthe Beyala.
