Adriana Rudling

Adriana Rudling is a Research Fellow at Queen's University Belfast, with a PhD in Politics from the University of Sheffield. Her work focuses on:

• Mechanisms behind victims' organizations' fragmentation
• Human rights and supranational courts (particularly the Inter-American Court of Human Rights)
• Transitional justice policies and victims' participation
• Ethical challenges in working with trauma survivors
• Testimonial literature in Latin America
• Judicial activism in international courts

Research Trends: Her publications examine Panama's colonial legacy through the US-controlled Canal Zone, military dictatorship (1968-1989), and state-sponsored amnesia about repression. She analyzes racial hierarchies in infrastructure projects, sovereignty movements, and post-invasion accountability frameworks.

Grants: Received University of Sheffield funding (2012-2015) for PhD research on victims' organizations in Panama. Collaborated with the Inter-American Court of Human Rights on cases involving enforced disappearances.
