Adriana Merino is a Senior Lecturer in Spanish and Portuguese at Princeton University. She holds a Ph.D. from UNED (Spain) and an M.A. in Linguistics from Universidad Nacional del Comahue (Argentina). Her teaching focuses on applied linguistics, discourse analysis, and language methodology courses.
Her research examines inter/cross-cultural pragmatics, intercultural competence development, L2 oral interaction, L2 formative assessment strategies, and the integration of ICT and AI tools in language pedagogy. She has received Princeton Humanities grants for educational innovation projects, including developing a corpus of intercultural spoken interactions and scenario-based e-assessment platforms.
Merino has authored teacher resource manuals and co-developed Princeton's digital learning platform for Spanish courses. Her recent work explores AI applications for enhancing oral language competencies and pedagogical approaches.
