Adrian Moore

Adrian Moore is a Professor and Head of the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Sunderland's Faculty of Health Sciences and Wellbeing. His academic expertise lies in organic chemistry, spanning both academia and industry contexts.

Research Interests: Moore focuses on synthesizing natural product analogues for neurodegenerative diseases (e.g., nicotinic receptor agonists, secretase inhibitors), pain and addiction treatments (nicotinic modulators), depression (melatonin and serotonin receptor agents), and anti-cancer compounds (marine alkaloid analogs with topoisomerase inhibition). He also explores supramolecular systems with redox-active units and dendrimers for metal ion transport studies.

Publications: His work includes 70+ peer-reviewed articles, four book chapters, and one patent, covering pharmaceutical formulation, organic synthesis, and redox chemistry. Collaborative projects with Rita Haj-Ahmad, Cheng Chaw, and Amal Elkordy highlight his contributions to drug stabilization.
