Adrian Manning is Professor of Ecology at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, Australian National University, where he leads the Coexistence Conservation Laboratory. His research focuses on conservation biology, reintroduction ecology, landscape restoration, and rewilding, with particular emphasis on box-gum grassy woodlands and species reintroductions.
He serves as Research Leader of the long-term 'Mulligans Flat - Goorooyarroo Woodland Experiment,' a government-university-NGO partnership aimed at restoring critically endangered ecosystems. His work includes reintroducing locally extinct species to restore ecological functions.
As a Trustee of the ACT Woodland and Wetlands Trust, he partners with the ACT Government to manage Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary and Wildbark Learning Centre. His publications focus on conservation strategies, trophic rewilding, and habitat restoration techniques.
