About
Dr. Adrian Tett leads the Computational Systems Biology group at the University of Vienna's Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science. His research combines computational approaches with metagenomics to analyze the human microbiome, with particular focus on uncovering hidden diversity in novel species and subspecies and examining relationships to human health and disease.
Research focuses include:
- Large-scale metagenomic analyses of human microbiomes
- Ancient microbial DNA from historical populations
- Impact of industrialization on microbiome evolution
- Characterization of Prevotella copri diversity
His work utilizes thousands of metagenomes to identify critical microbiome components, revealing how industrial lifestyles have rapidly altered human-associated microbial communities with potential health implications.
