He serves as Deputy Centre Lead for the Translational Medicine and Therapeutics Centre. His academic journey includes a B.Sc. (First Class Honours) and Ph.D. from King’s College London, followed by postdoctoral research at UCLA (with Nobel Laureate Prof. Louis Ignarro) and University College London under Sir Salvador Moncada. His research focuses on nitric oxide (NO), guanylyl cyclases, and natriuretic peptides in cardiovascular pathophysiology, with translational emphasis on pulmonary hypertension, heart failure, and ischaemic disorders.
- Education:
- B.Sc. Pharmacology, First Class Honours, King’s College London (1989)
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology, King’s College London (1992)
- Research Interests:
- NO signaling and natriuretic peptide interactions
- Guanylyl cyclase biology and therapeutic targeting
- C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) in cardiovascular protection
- Drug development for pulmonary hypertension and heart failure
- Awards:
- Wellcome Trust Career Development Fellowship
