Dr. Adrian Florea is a Senior Lecturer in International Relations and Deputy Research Director in the Political & International Studies Department at the University of Glasgow's School of Social and Political Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University (2014) and has taught at institutions including the University of North Carolina Greensboro and Elon University. His research focuses on civil war, political violence, de facto states, rebel governance, and state (un)making, with regional expertise in post-Soviet Eastern Europe and the Caucasus.

Supervision: Advises Ph.D. students on civil war strategies, violence against civilians, and nonstate actor rivalries. Recent completions include studies on armed group rivalries in MENA and post-civil war stability.
Roles: Co-Lead of the 'Peaceful, Secure & Empowered Societies' interdisciplinary research theme at the University of Glasgow's College of Social Sciences.
