Adrian Altenburger

Adrian Altenburger is a Lecturer and Co-Head of the Institute of Building Technology and Energy (IGE) at Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture. He also serves as Head of the Bachelor's Program in Building Technology/ Energy. With a BSc in HVAC Engineering, an MBA, and a MAS in Architecture, his career spans over 30 years in engineering, academia, and leadership roles.

Professional Experience: He has held senior roles at firms like Elektrowatt Engineering AG and Amstein+Walthert AG, and currently chairs multiple boards (e.g., Jobst Willers Engineering AG). He also advises institutions like ETH Zurich and the Swiss Federal Office of Energy (BFE).

Research Focus: Energy systems, geothermal energy, data center efficiency, and interdisciplinary project management. He emphasizes sustainable building practices and climate adaptation, contributing to standards like SIA 384/6 (Geothermal Heat Pumps).
