Research Fellow · Macromolecular Delivery
Massachusetts Institute of TechnologyAbout
Aditya Raguram is a Whitehead Fellow at the Whitehead Institute, where he leads the Raguram Lab focused on developing novel delivery systems for therapeutic macromolecules. His research investigates natural cellular transport mechanisms and engineered virus-like particles to enable targeted delivery of proteins and gene-editing agents into diseased cells, with applications in treating genetic disorders. He earned an A.B. in Chemistry and Physics from Harvard College (2018) and a Ph.D. in Chemical Biology from Harvard University (2023), where he pioneered genome-editing delivery technologies under Prof. David R. Liu.
His work spans:
- Engineering viral capsids for safer therapeutic delivery
- Harnessing extracellular vesicles for macromolecule transport
- Developing precision editing tools with minimized off-target effects
Awards:
- NIH Director's Early Independence Award (2024)
- MIT Innovators Under 35 (2024)
- Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award (2023)
- NSF Graduate Research Fellowship (2018)
The Raguram Lab collaborates extensively with institutions including Harvard, Broad Institute, and international partners to advance macromolecular therapeutics.
