Dr. Adi Idris is a Senior Lecturer in Virology at the School of Biomedical Sciences, Faculty of Health, Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His research focuses on developing RNA-based antiviral therapies and gene editing technologies to combat viral diseases, including cancers and communicable diseases. He is an Australian Endeavour Research Fellow (2018) and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB). His work has led to the world's first RNA-based direct-acting antiviral therapy for COVID-19.
