Professor Adele Fielding is a clinical academic and Professor of Haematology at Hull York Medical School, where she serves as Head of Experimental Medicine and Biomedicine. Her research focuses on adult acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL), aiming to improve patient outcomes through translational studies of the bone marrow microenvironment and national clinical trials. She is also an Honorary Professor at UCL and chairs the European Working Group on adult ALL (EWALL) and the Blood Cancer UK Action Plan Task Force.
- Education: MBBS and PhD in psychology and medicine from UCL; doctoral research at the LMB Centre for Protein Engineering, Cambridge.
- Career Path: Faculty position at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine, UCL (2003-2023), and relocated to HYMS in 2023.
Her clinical work is conducted at Hull University Teaching Hospitals, and her laboratory provides central MRD testing and biobanking support for national ALL trials. She has led CRUK-funded trials (UKALL14, UKALL60+) and currently develops UKALL15.
