Dr. Adel Alhalawani is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Toronto Metropolitan University (2017), an M.Sc.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Malaya (2013), and a B.Eng. in Biomedical Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (2010). His research focuses on bio-glass-based adhesives for orthopedic and dental applications, emphasizing materials science and biomechanical analysis.
His teaching interests include engineering design, biomechanics, statics, mechanics of materials, biomaterials, and manufacturing design. He has received notable awards such as the Dr. Jacob and Helen Friedman Research Excellence Award (2016) and the EXL-ITL Faculty Fellowship Award (2019).
