Adedeji Ebo is a Visiting Professor at the African Leadership Centre, part of King’s Global Institutes and the School of Global Affairs at King’s College London. He currently serves as Chief of the Conventional Arms Branch at the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs (since 2020). Previously, he held roles including pioneering Chief of the Security Sector Reform (SSR) Unit at the UN Department of Peace Operations (2008–2019), Director of Political Affairs at UNOWAS (2017–2019), and roles in UN missions in Côte d’Ivoire and Mali. Before joining the UN, he was a Senior Fellow and founding Head of the Africa Programme at DCAF, and an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science and Defence Studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy.
Education: BA International Relations (University of Keele, England), MSc Politics of the World Economy (London School of Economics), PhD International Relations (Bayero University, Nigeria).
Research focuses on UN policy, security sector reform, and global governance. His notable publication, co-edited with Prof Heiner Hanggi, explores UN SSR policy and practice. He contributes to the African Leadership Centre’s initiatives in leadership and peacebuilding.
