About
Adam Weaver is Associate Professor of Biology and Neuroscience at Saint Michael's College. He holds a Ph.D. from Ohio University and completed postdoctoral training at Emory University and University of Washington.
His research combines neurophysiological experiments with computational modeling to study central pattern generators in medicinal leeches. Weaver's work investigates how synaptic inhibition and electrical coupling interact to control rhythmic motor patterns in invertebrate nervous systems. He has established electrophysiology laboratories enabling undergraduate research on neuronal networks.
Weaver teaches courses including Neuroscience, Human Anatomy & Physiology, and Biological Communications. He mentors student researchers studying phase relationships in leech heartbeat systems and has presented collaborative work at Society for Neuroscience conferences.
