Adam Ragan Amodeo

Adam Ragan Amodeo is a Senior Instructional Technologist at the University of Arizona and an adjunct writing faculty member at Pima Community College (PCC). He holds an M.A. in English Linguistics from Arizona State University and a B.A. in English, with a focus on addressing systemic issues in education, particularly the harms of Structured English Immersion (SEI) programs on English Language Learners in Arizona.

Adam has been active in local and state politics, advocating for workers' rights, serving on TUSD's Family Life Curriculum Committee, and leading initiatives in LGBTQ community support. His accolades include being named the 2020 Tucson Man of the Year.

Community Leadership: Co-chair of the César Chávez Holiday Committee, former Mayor's appointee on Tucson’s GLBT Commission, and active in non-profit governance. He also co-founded southern Arizona’s LGBTQ youth center on 4th Avenue.
