Dr. Adam Pel is an Assistant Professor in Transport Modelling and a traffic analyst at Fileradar. He holds a PhD in 'Traffic Modeling and Management for Evacuations' (2011) and has been with TU Delft since 2012. His expertise spans data analytics, simulation, and optimisation for transport systems, with a focus on resilience and traveller behavior. He is Associate Editor for Transportation Research Part C and Transportation Science.
Academically, he chairs the MSc Board of Studies for Transport, Infrastructure, and Logistics, coordinates BSc minor programmes, and teaches courses on transport modelling and resilience. He also supervises Postdoc and PhD researchers. Since 2014, he has worked part-time at Fileradar on data-driven traffic analytics and prediction tools.
His research interests include multimodal transport systems, traveller choice behavior, and innovations in mobility policy. He has developed software for traffic forecasting and decision support systems used in traffic management pilots.
