Dr. Adam M. Watkins is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Human Services within Bowling Green State University's College of Health & Human Services. He joined BGSU's faculty in 2010 after earning his Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri at St. Louis.
His research focuses on youth crime, gang-related behaviors, and evaluation of crime control initiatives, particularly those targeting gun violence reduction, gang membership dynamics, and rehabilitation programs for court-involved individuals. His work has been published in leading journals like Justice Quarterly and Youth Violence and Juvenile Justice.
Dr. Watkins' recent publications emphasize intersections between socioeconomic factors and criminal behavior, with a methodological focus on comparative analysis between juvenile and adult offenders. He has served as a principal investigator for program evaluations related to gun violence prevention and juvenile justice interventions.
