About
Adam Koberinski is a Research Fellow in the Department of Philosophy at Western University, affiliated with the Rotman Institute of Philosophy. He holds a PhD and Master’s in Philosophy of Physics from Western University and has held postdoctoral positions at institutions including the University of Pittsburgh, University of Waterloo, and University of Bonn. His research focuses on foundational and methodological issues in quantum field theory, early universe cosmology, and theoretical physics, with a particular interest in the philosophy of science and dynamic epistemology.
Education:
- PhD and Master’s in Philosophy of Physics, Western University
- Bachelor’s in Physics (with Philosophy minor), University of Waterloo
Research Interests:
Koberinski explores topics such as the cosmological constant problem, effective field theory, renormalization group methods, and the methodology of theory construction in high-energy physics. His work bridges philosophy of physics with metaphysical and epistemological questions, emphasizing the role of abstract frameworks in shaping scientific inquiry.
Teaching & Engagement:
- Recent courses include Einstein for Everyone and Philosophy of Science Master’s Seminars at Perimeter Institute and University of Waterloo.
- Involved in collaborative projects like the New Directions in Philosophy of Cosmology initiative.
Labs/Teams:
Associated with the Rotman Institute of Philosophy and collaborates internationally on interdisciplinary projects in philosophy of physics and cosmology.
