Adam Goodman is a Clinical Professor at the McCormick School of Engineering & Applied Sciences and Director of Northwestern University's Center for Leadership. He specializes in leadership development, teamwork assessment, and enterprise-level learning software. Goodman holds a PhD in Public Affairs and an MPA from the University of Colorado at Denver, alongside a BS in Journalism & Mass Communication from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
His research focuses on leadership fundamentals, coaching, and team dynamics. He co-founded Catapult, a data-driven leadership assessment tool, and has advised over 150 CEOs, executive teams, and organizations worldwide. Goodman teaches leadership courses across multiple schools at Northwestern and runs the Leadership Fellowship program for PhD students and staff.
Prior roles include Executive Director of the University of Colorado's Leadership Institute and founding partner of the NorthStone Group. He has served on boards and received support from institutions like the Ford Foundation and IBM.
Goodman is deeply involved in civic initiatives, mentoring emerging leaders and supporting programs addressing healthcare, economic development, and criminal justice. His consulting practice spans 25 years with clients such as Kaiser Permanente, TIAA-CREF, and the Government of Canada.
