Adam Gearey is Professor of Law at Birkbeck Law School, University of London. He has held visiting positions at Makerere University (Uganda), University of Pretoria, UC Berkeley, and University of Peace (Costa Rica), and teaches jurisprudence for the University of London's International Programme and University of Hong Kong.
Research Interests: Focuses on critical legal studies, Islam/secular law intersections, poverty law, and radical legal thought. His book 'Poverty Law and Legal Activism' examines legal responses to inequality.
Supervision: Has successfully supervised PhD students including Anna Waldenstrom (EU cross-border evidence) and Philipp Kender (authoritarian governance in Europe).
