Adam Fine

Dr. Adam Fine is a Professor in the School of Criminology & Criminal Justice at Arizona State University, where he directs the Youth Justice Lab. His research examines how juvenile justice processes affect youth outcomes and how young people develop perceptions of legal authorities. Funded by NSF, NIJ, and private foundations, his work integrates developmental psychology with criminal justice policy.

Research focuses on legal socialization, police legitimacy, and juvenile probation effectiveness. He investigates how systemic events like high-profile police killings influence public perceptions of law enforcement.

Dr. Fine teaches courses on juvenile justice and research methods, while mentoring students in empirical studies of justice system interactions. His longitudinal work tracks how justice-involved youth perceive authority figures and legal institutions.
