Adam Dohrenwend

Adam Dohrenwend is an Assistant Professor of Geography at the School of Integrated Sciences, James Madison University. His research focuses on political ecology, electoral politics, environmental justice, and regional studies with emphases on industrial/rural areas of the U.S., southern South America, and Europe. He actively engages communities through grassroots initiatives like Rise St. James in Louisiana's Cancer Alley. Educated at SUNY Geneseo (B.A.), University of Kansas (M.A.), and Louisiana State University (Ph.D.), he has taught extensively since 2017, including 14 semesters as an instructor of record. His teaching portfolio includes courses on global dimensions, physical geography, population studies, and environmental sociology.
