Ada Ghiggia

Dr. Ada Ghiggia is an Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology (M-PSI/08) at the Department of Life Sciences, University of Trieste. She serves as a member of the Department's Board, multiple Boards of Studies, and Doctoral Studies Boards for various psychology programs including Psychological Sciences and Techniques and Neural and Cognitive Sciences.

Dr. Ghiggia's research focuses on interdisciplinary studies in clinical psychology, particularly in psychosomatics and clinical neuropsychology. Her work spans three main areas: clinical studies on patients with chronic pain, psycho-oncology research examining life quality and psychological stress, and investigations into psychological and cognitive aspects of autism spectrum disorder.

As a member of the Clinical Psychology Research Group under Prof. Penolazzi, she contributes to research on typical and atypical development during the lifespan. Her work connects clinical practice with research in psychological assessment and intervention across various patient populations.

Dr. Ghiggia actively participates in multiple academic governance structures at the university level, serving on committees for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in psychology, demonstrating her commitment to academic leadership and educational development in her field.
