About
Ada Cigala is Associate Professor (Professore di II fascia) at the University of Parma, within the Department of Humanistic, Social and Cultural Enterprise Disciplines. She teaches courses in Developmental Psychology, Emotion Regulation, Psychology of Groups in Educational Contexts, and Psychological Intervention in the Community for Early Childhood across both first-cycle and second-cycle degree programmes.
Research Interests
Her research focuses on typical and atypical emotional development, perspective-taking abilities in preschoolers and children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, multisensory integration across development, and the evaluation of family relationships through the TIAP observational procedure. She is particularly interested in how protective factors such as perspective-taking can buffer the negative effects of psychological maltreatment on children’s peer social adjustment.
Recent publications reveal a trajectory that blends systematic reviews of sensory synchrony perception with the development and validation of observational tools for family assessment and intervention protocols aimed at enhancing social cognition in early childhood.
