Achsah Guibbory

Achsah Guibbory is Ann Whitney Olin Professor of English at Barnard College, Columbia University. Her scholarship focuses on seventeenth-century literature, particularly Milton and Donne, examining intersections of religion and national identity. She authored Christian Identity, Jews, and Israel in Seventeenth-Century England, winner of the Shawcross Award, and edited The Cambridge Companion to John Donne.

Guibbory's honors include Guggenheim and NEH fellowships. Her publications analyze Christian-Jewish relations, religious toleration concepts, and biblical influence in early modern literature. Current research extends to twentieth-century interfaith relations. She served as president of both Milton Society of America and John Donne Society.
