Abril Azocar Guzman

Dr. Abril Azocar Guzman is a Group Leader in Knowledge Engineering for Materials Science at the Institute for Advanced Simulation (IAS) within Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH. She leads the Materials Data Science and Informatics (IAS-9) department, focusing on advancing computational methods for materials discovery and data-driven research.

Her core research interests include computational materials science, atomistic simulations, and research data management. She develops innovative methodologies to bridge experimental and computational approaches in materials design, leveraging machine learning and high-performance computing.

Azocar Guzman’s work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in translating data science tools to address challenges in energy materials, quantum systems, and advanced manufacturing. Her group contributes to the Helmholtz Association’s strategic initiatives in sustainable energy and materials innovation.
