Abigail Copeland

Abigail Copeland is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Theater and Director of the Theater Program at Quinnipiac University. She teaches scenic, lighting, and costume design, drawing and painting for the theater, and stage management, emphasizing experiential learning through theatrical practice.

Research & Professional Focus: Abigail specializes in theater design, with a focus on scenic design for new works and collaborations with underrepresented communities. Her pedagogy integrates practical skills with critical thinking in theater production.

Professional Experience: She actively works as a scenic designer for Connecticut Repertory Theatre, MoonAmie Productions (Miami), and freelance projects across Connecticut, Florida, and London. She also oversees theater program operations and student mentorship at QU.
