Abigail Adams-Prassl is the Nuffield Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics, University of Oxford, with a visiting appointment at Northwestern University (2024/25). Her research spans applied microeconomics, focusing on:
- Economic causes and consequences of gender-based violence
- Labor market flexibility and inequality (particularly gender disparities)
- Behavioural decision-making models in observational data
- Legal frameworks for access to justice in the UK
Recent analyses of large-scale datasets include employment tribunal reforms (2017 Supreme Court case), gig economy taxation, and pandemic impacts on mental health. She leads the ERC-funded FEMPOWER project (€1.5M) and co-leads the Nuffield Foundation’s Transforming Justice initiative (£2.4M).
