Abdul Samad

Dr.-Ing. Abdul Samad is Deputy Head of the Department of Flue Gas Cleaning and Air Quality Control (RuL) at the Institute of Combustion and Power Plant Technology (IFK), University of Stuttgart. He works on projects related to chemical absorption processes for CO2 separation from flue gas, mercury emissions reduction from coal-fired power plants, biogas upgrading via ion-exchange resins, and air pollutant dispersion modeling in urban systems.

• Key projects include CASPAR (spray scrubber CO2 capture), COORETEC (amine-based post-combustion capture), and FE 2020-2-U-1202 (rail transport pollution monitoring).
