Abby Ferber is a Full Professor in the Department of Sociology and Associate Director of the Matrix Center for the Advancement of Social Equity and Inclusion at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. She also serves as Director of the Women’s and Ethnic Studies program.

Her research and teaching focus on privilege and oppression from an intersectional perspective, examining how race, gender, and class interconnect in systems of inequality. She has authored numerous books and articles that have been widely reprinted and translated into multiple languages.
Key publications include Privilege: A Reader (2016), The Matrix of Race (2015), and Home-Grown Hate (2004). These works analyze white supremacy, systemic inequality, and the role of gender in hate groups.
She has received multiple honors including:
- CU Elizabeth Gee Memorial Lectureship Award
- Chase Community Service Award
Ferber is a leading public speaker on social justice issues and actively contributes to non-profit organizations, having served on the founding boards of three equity-focused non-profits. Her work bridges academic research with community activism to advance social change.
