Aaron Martin

Aaron Martin is a Teaching Professor in the Irvin D. Reid Honors College at Wayne State University. He specializes in interdisciplinary research, focusing on cultural production, health politics, and under-resourced communities. His work has led to publications such as the chapter "The Cultural Production of Commodifying Under-resourced Bodies" (2021), co-authored with undergraduate students. He teaches foundational Honors courses and leads the Honors senior thesis program. Dr. Martin is also a member of the University’s 2N Committee on Promotion Factors for Teaching Faculty.

His teaching excellence was recognized with the 2020 Wayne State University President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. He has mentored over two dozen undergraduate co-authors in scholarly journals across the humanities and social sciences, emphasizing student collaboration in research and publication.

Recent courses include HON1000: The City: Changing Detroit and HON2000: Foundation Seminar. His research program integrates narrative art and health studies, fostering innovative interdisciplinary approaches to societal challenges.
