Aaron Krall

Aaron Krall is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Illinois Chicago, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He specializes in first-year writing, basic writing pedagogy, and theatre/performance studies. Krall holds a PhD in English/Modern Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, an MS in Theatre History from Illinois State University, and a BA in English from the University of St. Francis.

His research explores intersections between performance, urban spaces, and educational practices. He has published in Theatre Survey and contributed chapters to scholarly volumes on theatrical geographies and segregation. Recent projects include revising a manuscript on neoliberalism and first-year writing programs.

Krall actively engages in professional service, serving as President of UIC United Faculty (Local #6456) and Vice President of the Illinois Federation of Teachers. His writings frequently appear in the Shakespeare 400 Chicago City Desk Blog, analyzing contemporary performance contexts in Chicago.
