Aaron Gingerich

Aaron Gingerich is a Research Fellow in the Department of Infectious Diseases at the College of Veterinary Medicine. His research focuses on characterizing viral/bacterial co-infections, particularly the synergistic interactions between Streptococcus pneumoniae and respiratory viruses like Influenza, RSV, and hMPV.

• Research Interests: Monoclonal antibody discovery, characterization of mAb functions, antimicrobial and immunomodulatory mechanisms.

Recent work includes investigations into DNA-encoded monoclonal antibodies targeting pneumococcal proteins, hepcidin's antimicrobial role, and oxidative killing of pathogens. Publications emphasize strategies for combating superinfections and enhancing antiviral immunity.
