Aaron Burton is a Lecturer in Communication and Media at the University of Wollongong since 2020, previously holding a Media Arts Lecturer position there (2018–2019). He completed his PhD in Media Arts at the University of New South Wales (2014).

Current projects examine visual representations of environmental crises using drone/GPS/satellite imagery. His 2020 Unmanned Imaging of the Anthropocene explores non-anthropocentric storytelling through transdisciplinary methods.
