Asli Giray is an Associate Professor at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Genetics and Bioengineering. Her academic career spans molecular biology, genetics, and bioengineering with a focus on mitochondrial mechanisms in cancer and biotechnological applications.

Her research explores mitochondrial apoptosis, oxidative stress, cytokine profiles in neurological disorders, and genetic engineering for vitamin production. She has contributed to studies on chemotherapy resistance, endocrine therapy response, and microbial biotechnology.
She received the 2019 Research Presentation Award at the National Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Diseases Congress. Her work involves collaborations on cancer biology, neurodevelopmental disorders, and agricultural biotechnology, with publications in journals like Scientific Reports, Apoptosis, and PLOS ONE.
Notable projects include TUBITAK-funded studies on mitochondrial estrogen receptors in breast cancer, STARD4 expression in ovarian cancer, and bioremediation using recombinant bacteria. She has taught courses in molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and biotechnology at undergraduate and graduate levels.
