Professor · Synthesis and characterization of metallic clusters
University of CyprusAbout
Professor Anastasios Tasiopoulos is a leading academic in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cyprus, School of Natural and Applied Sciences. He holds a PhD in Inorganic and Bioinorganic Chemistry from the University of Ioannina (1999) and has served in progressive academic roles at the University of Cyprus since 2004. His research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of metallic clusters for magnetic applications, functional Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), and materials for wastewater treatment and gas sorption.
- 2001-2003: Postdoctoral Researcher, University of Florida
- 2004-2008: Lecturer, University of Cyprus
- 2008-2013: Assistant Professor, University of Cyprus
- 2013-2018: Associate Professor, University of Cyprus
- 2018–Present: Professor, University of Cyprus
His research expertise spans single-molecule magnetism, MOF structural engineering, aqueous-stable frameworks, and luminescent MOFs, with applications in nanoscale magnetism and environmental remediation. Key publication themes include SCSC exchange reactions, high-spin clusters, and photoluminescence optimization. This work bridges theoretical and applied materials science, focusing on molecular-level innovations for real-world challenges.
