About
AMBRUS Bence is an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Geodesy and Surveying at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). Since 2016 he has been teaching core surveying and geomatics courses while pursuing research that combines high-precision GNSS and satellite radar interferometry for monitoring crustal movements.
Education:
- MSc Land Surveyor and Geomatics Engineer, Budapest University of Technology and Economics, 2016
Research Focus:
AMBRUS Bence’s work centres on integrating GNSS positioning with satellite-based radar interferometry (InSAR) to quantify subtle crustal deformations. A complementary strand of his research is the integrity assessment of tropospheric delay models, ensuring that residual atmospheric errors do not compromise safety-of-life GNSS applications in aviation and geohazard monitoring.
Publications Trend:
Across his three most recent peer-reviewed papers (2017–2018) he systematically analyses tropospheric modelling errors, comparing ray-traced weather-model data with standard RTCA models and quantifying residual impacts on high-accuracy GNSS positioning.
Awards & Recognition:
- Magyar Felvételi információ #építő250 Scholarship
Projects & Professional Service:
- INTRO Project – Integrity of Troposphere Models, funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) since 2016
- Member, Hungarian Society of Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing (2014–)
Laboratory & Teaching Activities:
He is actively involved in delivering both theoretical and practical courses including Basic Surveying, Surveying I & II, Numerical Methods, and Theory and Application of GNSS, alongside coordinating field exercises and structural-geodesy practicums.
