A. Hamid Mumin

Dr. A. Hamid Mumin is a Professor at Brandon University (since 1995) with expertise in Mineral Deposits, Exploration Geology, and Sustainable Mining. He teaches courses including Exploration Geology, Mineralogy, and Field Geology.

His research focuses on hydrothermal Fe-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) deposits, metallogeny of the Great Bear Magmatic Zone, and rural road stabilization technology partnerships with Cypher Environmental. Fieldwork spans Canada (NWT, Ontario, Manitoba, BC), Peru, and Ghana.

Scientific contributions include the 2015 Julian Boldy Award for mineral deposits research, editorial roles in IOCG deposit studies, and over 200 peer-reviewed publications/technical reports.
