About
A. Banerjee is a researcher at the University of Twente (UT), affiliated with the Chemical Engineering department within the Faculty of Science and Technology. His expertise focuses on multiscale modeling of (electro-)catalytic systems, reactor design, and energy conversion technologies. He holds a Master's in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and completed postdoctoral research at Imperial College London in electrochemical energy storage.
His research addresses fundamental physico-chemical phenomena in next-generation energy devices, including hydrogen fuel cells, electrolysers, and batteries to accelerate the energy transition. He leads the SEED lab and co-coordinates Hydrogen UT (Hy.UT), the University of Twente’s hydrogen community.
He integrates interdisciplinary approaches, combining experimental and computational methods to optimize device performance and lifecycle. His work bridges chemical engineering, materials science, and applied physics, with applications in sustainable energy systems.
